Unique hole,  master-minded by Luthier Randy  of  R & L  Ukuleles
designed & created in 2008, copyright
arched back design, floating ribs,  strategic placement of our bracings,  and other
innovative techniques we've exclusively designed & implemented, are just some
of the ukelele features we offer, which  help project & amplify
  sound  naturally.
Customers will comment that our instrument will often drown out others when played in a
group, as it has lot of volume & natural amplification.  Our ukuleles are  built somewhat
similar to old MARTIN ukuleles.  Randy's background in HOME building has taught him
ingenious ways to build a very light,   yet also very strong  instrument that will last.

With the exception of tuners, strings, and fretwires, our instruments are nearly 100%
handmade.  No other parts are ever brought in from elsewhere.  They are all handmade just
like our forefathers did in late 1800's.  Heart & soul painstakingly goes into building each &
every instrument.   There are no shortcuts.

For us, it is a PASSION of love and art when we create each & every ukulele.  We hope
everyone  new & old, and future generations will enjoy them, long after we are GONE.

                                      Aloha,
Randy & Lenda

At our workshop, we are like family.  If you have any questions, Randy is always
happy to explain how its made, so feel free to drop in anytime..
We are one of the last dying breed of makers that will still make  ukeleles the
traditional  old  1800  style way of making, which we are very proud of.  They are
(1-piece back)  which means neck & body is ONE PIECE. The neck extends 2" into the
body, which
was  the traditional way of builing in the late 1800 to early 1900's by the
Portuguese & Spanish Luthiers.  This method is hardly done anymore by modern
makers.  Our philosphy is to  try to carry on the old tradition.....as well as develop many
of  our own styles & techniques which will greatly enhance  the sound & strength of the
instrument...
